| 1891 - Hippolyte Charles was born on this day. Traditional jazz cornetist from St. Martinville, Louisiana. Performed with many of the legendary musicians and bands including Manuel Perez, 'Silver Leaf Orchestra', 'Tuxedo Brass Band' and the 'Maple Leaf Orchestra'. His career was cut short by illness in 1925. |
