1932 - Countess Willie Piazza, A madam who ran a famous brothel in Storyville and was a native of Mississippi passed away on this day. She was believed to be born in December of 1872, and her role as a brothel owner allowed her to employ many of the city's musicians. It was a sought after gig for locals and among the more famous pianists she employed were Tony Jackson and Jelly Roll Morton.
