| 1937 - Classie Ballou was born on this day. A guitarist and a native of Elton, Louisiana. He began in the 1950's playing in Lake Charles. He recorded sides for Goldband and JD Miller starting in 1956 and they included Lovin' Huggin', Kissin' My Baby, D-I-R-T-Y Deal, Confusion, Crazy Mambo, Hey! Pardner and Dream Love. Family is important to Classie, and these days, he plays with The Classie Ballou Family Band which includes his son Cedric (bass), grandson Cedryl (accordion, drums), and daughter CeChaun (drums, sax, accordion. |
