| 1900 - Jesse Charles was born on this day. Traditional jazz clarinetist and saxophonist from New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a parade musician and was a member of George Williams' Brass Band for a number of years. He later played with Abby Williams Happy Pals Brass Band. Jesse died in his hometown of New Orleans in August, 1975. |
