| 1955 - Albert 'Little Abbie' Brunies, traditional jazz drummer from New Orleans died on this day. He was born in New Orleans in 1914 and was a member of the famous Brunies musical clan that included his uncles, Albert, George, Henry and Merritt. He was known as an outstanding dixieland drummer and died on the bandstand in New York, while playing a gig with Sharkey Bonano's group. |
