1898 - John Casimir was born on this day. Traditional jazz clarinetist from New Orleans, Louisiana. He began his career with Lee Collins' 'Young Eagles Band' in 1919. He was the manager and clarinetist for the 'Young Tuxedo Brass Band' for many years, and recorded with them on Atlantic Records. John died in New Orleans in January of 1963.
