1920 - Duke Burrell was born on this day. A pianist and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. During his career, besides recording his own music, at one time leading the Louisiana Shakers, he played with Louis Jordan, Roy Brown and others. Duke passed away in California in 1993 at the age of 72.
