| 1939 - John 'J.J.' Joyce was born on this day. Jazz drummer from New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a Juilliard School of music graduate, and in the fifties, he worked with the George Kramer Jazz Band in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was a member of the 'Last Straws' and taught music at Tulane University. He was also a member of the Louisiana Repertory Jazz Ensemble in the eighties. |
