1934 - Eddie Bayard was born on this day. Traditional jazz trumpeter from New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a student of Manual Manetta. He performed with George Brunies, Sharkey Bonano and Santo Pecora, while his band, 'Bourbon Street Five' performed on the Mississippi Riverboats. Bayard appeared on the television shows of Dinah Shore and Lawrence Welk. As late as the 1980's he was performing with the Lousiana Repertory Ensemble.
