1990 - Louis Nelson, a traditional jazz trombonist from New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on this day at the age of 87. He began his career in Thibodaux, Louisiana in Joe Gable's band. In the twenties and thirties, he played with the 'Original Tuxedo Orchestra', Kid Rena's band and the 'Sidney DesVigne Orchestra'. He was a regular at Preservation Hall with Percy Humphrey and Kid Punch Miller in the 1960's.
