| 1978 - Henry 'Hank' Kmen, jazz clarinetist, saxophonist and vocalist from Saratoga Springs, New York died on this day. He was born in 1915, and was experienced in traditional and big band jazz before coming to New Orleans as a Professor at Tulane University. During the sixties, he played with the Crawford-Ferguson Night Owls. He died on September 22, 1978 in New Orleans. |
