| 1962 - Roy Palmer, a traditional jazz trombonist and native of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on this day at the age of 70. He worked with Tuxedo and the Onward brass bands, Papa Celestin, and Richard M. Jones band in Storyville. He left for chicago after Storyville closed and recorded with King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Lil Hardin Armstrong, Freddie Keppard, and the State Street Ramblers. |
