1977 - Abby Williams, traditional jazz drummer from New Orleans, Louisiana died on this day. He was born in 1906, and in the late twenties, he led the 'Square Deal Social Club Brass Band'. During the 1940's and 1950's he led his own band, 'Abby Williams Happy Pals Brass Band'. Abby died in New Orleans.
