1997 - John Chaffe, traditional jazz banjo and tuba player from New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on this day at the age of 59. A virtuoso who co-founded the 'Last Straws'. Also recorded with the esteemed Dr. Edmond Souchon, jazz historian. John also played with the Louisiana Repertory Ensemble.
