1936 - Huey Peter (Cookie) Thierry was born on this day. He was born near Jennings, Louisiana and was a singer and saxophonist. He's most well-known as the leader of the Swamp Pop band "Cookie & the Cupcakes" and their hits "Mathilda" and "Got You on My Mind". He passed away in 1997 at the age of 61.
