1925 - Alvin 'Red' Tyler was born on this day. Saxophonist with Lee Allen on most R&B hits of the 50's and 60's. He was inducted into the Louisiana Blues Hall of Fame, but he considered himself to be first and foremost a jazz player. Bebop was his first love, but rock & roll and the blues paid the bills better. He died in 1998.
