| 1969 - Henry 'Careful' Franklin, traditional jazz clarinetist from New Orleans, Louisiana died on this day. He was born in 1903, and a much admired part-time musician who played with King Oliver and Louis Armstrong. In the 1920's he played with Yank Johnson and in the 1960's with the 'Gibson Brass Band'. Henry died in New Orleans. |
