| 1927 - Charles Deichman, traditional jazz violinist, cornetist and bandleader from New Orleans, Louisiana died on this day. His 'Moonlight Serenaders' were the house band at the Tudor. He was a pioneer forming a dixieland band in New York around the same time as the Original Dixieland Jazz Band. His brother Benny was also a jazz trombonist. Charles died in New Orleans. |
