1904 - (Lovin) Sam Theard was born on this day. He was a singer, actor and comedian from New Orleans, Louisiana. He's known as the man who wrote "(I'll Be Glad When You're Dead) You Rascal You," made famous by Louis Armstrong, and "Let the Good Times Roll," which was one of Louis Jordan's major hits as well as a primary staple of rhythm & blues and early rock & roll. He passed away in Los Angeles, CA on December 7, 1982 at the age of 78. |
