1996 - Bill Humphries, a traditional jazz guitarist and banjoist from Allendale, South Carolina passed away on this day in New Orleans. His career in New Orleans mostly occurred in the 1960's with the 'Crawford-Ferguson Night Owls'. He also recorded several albums with the group and played on His Majesty's Bandwagon in the Rex parade.
