1875 - Louis Jean Baptiste Douroux was born on this day. A trumpeter and a native of Algiers, Louisiana. He played in brass bands, was a butcher by day and the father of Dolly Douroux Adams, the legendary New Orleans multi-instrumentalist mostly know as a pianist. His wife was Olivia Manetta, also a trumpeter and the sister of Professor Manuel Manetta. |
