1932 - Germaine Bazzle was born on this day. A vocalist and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She's known as a legend of jazz in New Orleans and on par with the likes of irma Thomas. She has been known as a teacher and influenced by Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. She sang regularly on Sundays with the Saint Louis Catholic Choir, and is a graduate of Xavier University. In 2007 she was part of the faculty at the Louis Armstrong Jazz Camp.
