1924 - Edgar Blanchard was born on this day. Guitarist and bandleader born in Grosse Tete, Louisiana. He worked with the Gondoliers, Ray Charles, Professor Longhair, Sam Cooke and others. As a solo artist he did "Steppin' High" and "Let's Get It". Edgar died in 1972.
