1946 - Clint (Joseph) Houston was born on this day. A bassist and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He cut his teeth with George Cables and Lenny White in the house band at a club in New York City called Slugs. For the next 10 years he did stints with Nina Simone, Roy Haynes, Sonny Greenwich and Don Thompson, Roy Ayers, Charles Tolliver , Stan Getz and Woody Shaw. In 1978 he began and association with Joanne Brackeen through 1986, which he featured on his two solo releases. Clint passed away in June of 2000 at the age of 53.
