1960 - Ricard Alexis, traditional jazz trumpeter and bassist from New Orleans died on this day. During his early career he played with 'Bob Lyons' Dixie Jazz Band' and the 'Tuxedo Orchestra' under Bebe' Ridgley. Later in his career he was most identified with Papa Celestin, Paul Barbarin and 'Sweet Emma Barrett.
