1892 - Isaiah 'Big Ike' Robinson was born on this day. Traditional jazz trombonist from Thibodaux, Louisiana. He played with the Kid Milton band and the Camelia Brass Band and Orchestra in 1920. He studied with Dave Perkins, and played in Chris Kelly's band until Chris' death in 1929. He then worked in the dance halls until he retired around 1938. He died in New Orleans in 1962.
