1965 - Jesse Davis was born on this day. He is a jazz saxophonist and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He began as a student of Ellis Marsalis at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. He's had a productive jazz career, recording 8 albums on the Concord Jazz label. He's collaborated with such artists as Jack McDuff and Illinois Jacquet. In 1989 he received a "Most Outstanding Musician award" from Down Beat magazine.
