1929 - Chris Kelly, a Traditional jazz cornetist born in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana on Deer Range Plantation passed away on this day at the age of 38. He's best-known for his early contributions on the New Orleans jazz scene. Throughout the 1920s he was a regular collaborator with clarinetist George Lewis.
