2004 - Adolph Smith, a guitarist, vocalist and a native of the 7th Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on this day at the age of 78. He was a member of the group The Monitors with Robert Kidd, Louis Caliste, Clarence Phoenix, and Billy Tircuit. The group performed on and off under various names for about 15 years. He was also well known as the primary songwriter in the early days of The Spiders. The songs included "I Didn't Want To Do It," "You're The One," "Walking Around In Circles" and "I'll Stop Crying." |
