1958 - Kent Jordan was born on this day. A jazz flute player and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. His father is tenor saxophonist Edward "Kidd" Jordan, and his brother is trumpeter Marlon. While he has toured and recorded with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Alvin Battiste and the legendary Elvin Jones, his sound is uniquely his own, developed through years of study, performing, teaching and maturing.
