1959 - Jimmy Carpenter was born on this day. A saxophonist and a native of Greensboro, NC. He relocated to New Orleans in 2004, and has contributed to Eric Lindell's release on Alligator Records, Gulf Coast Highway, Walter “Wolfman” Washington’s Doin’ The Funky Thing, and Honey Island Swamp Band's Wishing Well. Toiling In Obscurity is his first solo effort of songs that are from various stages of his life and released in 2008.
