1932 - O.C. Smith (Ocie Lee Smith) was born on this day. A Mansfield, Louisiana native singer, who sang for Count Basie for about 4 years. He then went on to chart 17 times as a solo performer, even having a million seller in "Little Green Apples". He became a pastor in California later in life. He died on November 23, 2001.
