1965 - Baptiste 'Bat' Mosley, traditional jazz drummer from Algiers, Louisiana passed away on this day. He was born in 1893, and his brother was Edgar Mosley, another traditional jazz drummer. His musical career began in the 1920's with Joe Harris and his dixieland band, and also played infrequently, with the Kid Howard Brass Band. In the thirties, he played with Kid Rena's Brass Band. 'Bat' died in New Orleans.
