1901 - Thompson McCay was born on this day. Traditional jazz guitarist, bassist, violinist and trombonist from New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the brother of multi-instrumentalist, Percy McCay. Thompson was well-known for his work in the all-string jazz bands of New Orleans. He died in New Orleans on July 4, 1963.
