1969 - Alcide 'Slow Drag' Pavageau, guitarist and bassist of traditional jazz from New Orleans passed away on this day. 'Slow Drag' played bass with legends Bunk Johnson and George Lewis in the 40's and 50's. He is said to be the nephew of the authentic voodoo queen, Marie Laveau.
