2001 - Jeannette Kimball, traditional jazz pianist from New Orleans, Louisiana died on this day at the age of 94. She was born in 1908, and spent most of her musical life with Papa Celestin and his various bands. She played with Celestin musicians after his death, with Bob French in the sixties. She also played with the 'New Camelia Jazz Band' in the eighties. Jeanette died in Charleston, SC.
