1929 - Placide Adams was born on this day. Jazz bassist and vocalist from New Orleans, Louisiana, and son of bandleader, Dolly Adams. He was also a bandleader, and played with traditional jazz legends, Papa Celestin and George Lewis. He died in March 2003 at the age of 73.
