1986 - William J, 'Bill' Crais, Dixieland trombonist from New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on this day at the age of 58. He was an attorney by trade, but was a very popular musician. He played in bands with Al Hirt, Pete Fountain and Sharkey Bonano. He also operated the Vieux Carre' Record Shop on Bourbon and St. Peters streets.
