1946 - Ron Davies was born on this day. A guitarist and songwriter and a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. In addition to releasing his own records, he wrote songs for Anne Murray, Dobie Grey, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jerry Jeff Walker, The Thompson Brothers Band, Ricky Skaggs, Vince Gill and Gail Davies. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 57.
