1910 - Oliver Alcorn was born on this day. Traditional jazz clarinetist and saxophonist from New Orleans. Oliver was the brother of trumpeter Alvin Alcorn and performed with Clarence Desdunes and George McCullum, Jr. early in his career. He moved to Chicago and played with Natty Dominique and Lonnie Johnson until he died in 1981 at the age of 70.
