| 1931 - Ivory Lee Semien (King Ivory) was born on this day. Drummer, vocalist and native of Washington, Louisiana. King Ivory was a label owner of Ivory Records. He was an in-demand drummer and toured and recorded beginning in the 1950's with Hop Wilson and then later with Lightnin' Hopkins predominantly in Houston, TX. He recorded for Goldband records in addition to his own label. |
