1983 - Ernie 'Cag' Cagnolatti, traditional jazz trumpeter from Madisonville, Louisiana passed away on this day at the age of 72. 'Cag' worked with Papa Celestin, Paul Barbarin and the Young Tuxedo Brass Band through most of his career. However, he did perform swing with Herb Leary's large society swing band in the 1930's. From the 60's through the 80's, he worked primarily at Preservation Hall.
