| 1923 - Wendell Eugene was born on this day. Traditional jazz trombonist from New Orleans, Louisiana. Was part of a musical family with his brother Homer and his uncles Paul Barbarin and Albert Burbank. Wendell played with Kid Howard, Papa Celestin and George Lewis. He also toured with orchestra's led by Lucky Millinder and Buddy Johnson. |
