| 1888 - Booker T. Glass was born on this day. Traditional jazz drummer from New Orleans, Louisiana. Booker is considered to be one of the great brass band drummers. He was the student of Ed Gaspard and began his career with 'Holcamps Greater Shows'. During his long career he did stints with 'Camelia Brass Band', Wooden Joe Nicholas, Johnny Predonces dance orchestra and 'Eureka Brass Band. Booker died in New Orleans in July, 1981. |
