1902 - Louis Nelson was born on this day. Traditional jazz trombonist from New Orleans, Louisiana. He began his career in Thibodaux, Louisiana in Joe Gable's band. In the twenties and thirties, he played with the 'Original Tuxedo Orchestra', Kid Rena's band and the 'Sidney DesVigne Orchestra'. He was a regular at Preservation Hall with Percy Humphrey and Kid Punch Miller in the 1960's. He passed away in 1990 at the age of 87.
