| 1925 - Boogie Woogie Red (Vernon Harrison) was born on this day. He was a blues, boogie-woogie and jazz pianist, singer and songwriter, and a native of Rayville, Louisiana. During his career he worked with with Sonny Boy Williamson, Lonnie Johnson, Tampa Red, John Lee Hooker, Memphis Slim and others. He recorded his own albums in 1974 and 1977, and toured Europe that same decade. He died in Detroit, in July 1992, at the age of 66. |
