1963 - Francis Murray, traditional jazz saxophonist and clarinetist from New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on this day. He was born in 1915, and was a very active dixieland player. He gigged with Johnny Wiggs, Dutch Andrus, Abbie Brunies, Pete Fountain and the Loyacano brothers. He also worked with legends Nick LaRocca, Tony Parenti and Willie Guitar on jobs. He was active with marching bands and played with Clancy's Marching Band from harahan, Louisiana. Francis died in New Orleans.
