| 1968 - Kieth Frazier was born on this day. A bass drummer and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was raised in the 9th Ward. He and his older brother, sousaphone player Phul Frazier, founded the Rebirth Brass Band with Kermit Ruffins while still students at Joseph S. Clark Senior High School. Rebirth specializes in “junk music — jazz and funk put together. It’s clean, but unclean.” After 20 plus years he's still playing with Rebirth. |
