| 1933 - Jimmy Dotson was born on this day. A vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and a native of Ethel, Louisiana. He began his musical career singing blues at local clubs. He hooked up with Lazy Lester and Silas Hogan and recorded some R&B sided for Jay Miller’s labels. He lived in Memphis for several years, but came back to Baton Rouge in the 80's and resumed his career at Tabby Thomas' club. |
