1969 - Noon Johnson, traditional jazz tuba and bazooka player from New Orleans, Louisiana died on this day. Born in 1903, he began as a youngster playing on the streets of the Storyville district for coins. He also led a 'skiffle' trio, and paraded with the 'Young Tuxedo Brass Band'. Noon died in New Orleans.
